Tourist Information Centre in Qwa Qwa, the putative 'state' set up under apartheid for the Sotho people. To give such institutions an aura of legitimacy, to make them seem indigenous to the culture of the 'state' in question, ethnic architectures were invented. In this case the roofs of these buildings have been modelled on the traditional grass hat of the Basotho people. Phuthaditjhaba, Qwa Qwa (now in Free State). 21 May 1990
