Some of 1500 crosses tied to farm fences by a group of whites on August 24 2003, along the N1 highway near Polokwane, in commemoration of and protest against farm murders committed between 1994 and 2003.
On 12 May 2004 the group removed all of the crosses after the National Road Agency declared them to be 'illegal' since they were tied to the outside of the farm fences and therefore were within the property of the National Road Agency where 'advertising' is not permitted. N1 near Polokwane, Mpumalanga. February, March, April 2004
