Zina Saro-Wiwa: This is My Africa

Michael Stevenson is pleased to announce the first project in the FOREX series, This is My Africa by Zina Saro-Wiwa.

Born in Nigeria and based in London, Saro-Wiwa is a writer, filmmaker and television presenter. Her 50-minute documentary features a number of prominent London-based Africans and 'Africaphiles', including artist Yinka Shonibare MBE, filmmaker John Akomfrah and actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, talking about their personal experiences and perceptions of Africa. This is My Africa will show concurrently with solo shows by Deborah Poynton and Nicholas Hlobo.

The exhibition opens on Thursday 4 June, 6-8pm. The gallery is open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
